El fundamentalismo humanitario y los derechos humanos

Abstract

Cuando, en las Tanner Lectures, Michael Ignatieff declara que la validez de la doctrina occidental de los derechos humanos (basados en la libertad negativa) va más allá del contexto cultural de Occidente, su universalismo se vuelve fundamentalista. Por tanto, es necesario cuestionar cuáles son los fundamentos y la teoría de los derechos humanos y cuáles sus logros tomando en cuenta no sólo la cultura occidental, sino varias otras.

Abstract: When in the Tanner Lectures, Michael Ignatieff declares that the validity of the Western doctrine for the Human Rights (based on negative freedom) goes further than the cultural context in the West, his universalism turns fundamentalist. Therefore it is necesary to question what is the fundamentals and theory of the Human Rights and what is its achievement not only regarding the Western culture, but towards several others.
